class of 2010

Brigham Young University Idaho - Class of 2010.
I can't believe my college experience has come to an end. I have loved attending college in Rexburg and {Jerusalem} and I've learned so much spiritually, secularly, and socially that I couldn't aquire anywhere else. I mainly realize the growth that has come from my experiences when I look back at old photos. I know it's so cliche to say, time flies-but it truly has.

Graduation itself was so great. It was weird to be all decked out in a cap & gown....but it's such an accomplished feeling. President Clark & Elder Jensen from the 70 spoke along with two other students and a musical number. It was a great night and the next day we were lucky enough to all gather in the new building and hear more encouraging words! The day before was the dedication f0r the byu-idaho center {"new building"} and President Eyring, Elder Bednar, Elder Nelson, and Elder Jensen were all there. WOW. It was a great hour to say the least.

I started college inbetween my junior and senior year of high school and I'm so glad I did that. I always gravitated towards the older crowds slash guys so it was such a good experience for me at that time. I still remember my first roommate and the experiences that transpired those couple of months. I didn't have a cell phone and still remember using a calling card and using the apartment chord phone to talk to my boyfriend. Going back to high school was a bit of a challenge but my senior year would be one of my favorites. amazing memories.

I went back to byui before my high school graduation and started my next semester. I'm pretty sure this was the year I started getting sick of "the drive." I had to go back and forth with seminary graduation, graduation, farewells, and friend get-togethers. Summer semester was and will always be my favorite time in Rexburg though. It is such a great time to be in Idaho.

Fall semester was the first time Katie and I were roommates. That was a fun and crazy semester. That was a semester with emotions, pranking katie a lot, getting my car towed, a job, and great classes.

Summer and Fall semesters were up next and I loved them. I had different roommates and housing for both. I chopped 12 inches off my hair, owned a fish for a day, had two weird boyfriends, learned how to longboard, made a friend I'll always remember;Bernie, taught Gospel Doctrine, and started noticing a lot of changes on campus.

Winter semester would be the most amazing experience in my life. Byu-Jerusalem. I could go on forever...and have at times. Jerusalem will always have a place in my heart.

The following Fall semester would re-connect me with Katie! That was an interesting semester. I had a great fhe group, short walks to school for all of my sociology classes, lived the closest to a temple I think I ever will in my life, saw friends return home from missions, and lived off chips & salsa.

This fall was then my last semester. It was amazing. I had such incredible roommates that made such a difference. I met most of them in Israel and the other two were just as great. We had people over all the time, I had a great class schedule, I took photography which I loved, I had a great ward and fhe group {which included my awesome cousin}, made great new friends, was able to live so close to my sister and her family. They were life savers for a getaway, laundrymat, and kid time. {thanks you guys-i love you!}

....and now it's over. weird.

why I'll miss byui/rexburg=
snoasis.campus.devotional.seeing familiar faces everyday.parks.my favorite trees on the drive.sandunes.summer nights.rexburg temple.potatoe fields.train tracks.IF.millhollow.grandparents house.bike rides down mainstreet.broulims.dam marathon.di.proffesors.taylor chapel.friends.horkleys.snoasis.bridge jumping.derby.running outside with the scent of rexburg.sammy's.porters.

a few things I've learned=
when you are reading your scriptures, serving others, & having meaninful prayer daily-your life will be better. there is always something to learn. you are capable of making a negative situation turn positive. i'm happier with a good night's sleep. give it your best. everyone is unique and has a story. temple attendance refocuses priorities. making time to workout will make you feel better. write in your journal & document with pictures. camelbacks can be your best friend. face your fears. i need to learn how to cook better. i can feel comfortable around new people pretty fast. attend decotional and make spiritual time a part of your life. ask questions you're scared to, everyone else is thinking the same thing. simplify. stand firm in your beliefs.

i have/had two job interviews already. {executive assistant & shabby apple}
life is starting fast.
now here are some pictures documenting graduation. it was a great day!!
