i have realized since marriage that i can become overly stressed when there is a lot of little things to do. i realize that this isn't profound. but, i've realized a lot of "little things" can wait or that i really need to balance them out more. a huge stress of mine after marriage was making our house a HOME. this was/is very important to me. i like things clean, organized, and preferably with some flair. when you are combining wedding gifts/college randoms/previous apartment of a bachelor/treasures of a 22 year old girl....there can be a lot.
i have LOVED cleaning everything OUT. simplify people. i'm still not there yet but trust me we have packed the car and made several runs to the DI. i have a weird obsession with the feeling of dejunking, it's a high of some sorts for me. i would love to clean out/organize for a living...and i'm not kidding. anywayssss....eric and i have had a lot of fun figuring out what to do here & there. he has been a CHAMP!! i love being able to say where i want something and it's done. that may be normal for some of you-but not for this snarr girl. i am not accustomed to a handy man around the house. i love my dad and i know it was just fathers day but he is far from a handy man. i married a home depot lover/craftsman tools owner...and it's nice.
so,
we have made some progress on our 1st place together.
i love waking up/coming home to OUR place.
we've done some projects along the way and still have some more but those will have a different post....
come be our guest!
{oh and excuse me for uploading backwards...}
project in the works for the wall
we are going to paint that dresser/game & movie drawer
office/currently a catch all until i decide on a rolltop desk
laundry closet...washer & dryer on the way shortly
master bedroom. working on a awesome headboard
notice the his/her lamps. {eric loves this part}
eric picked out just about all of our bathroom decorations.
he was an awesome help!
our rockin closet. still needs to be cleaned out so don't look too close!!!!
our dining room thats downstairs
our kitchen! trying to spend more time in there....
family room. this one is 99% done
this is the major project going on right now....details to come...we are very excited about it!!
not pictured: 2nd bathroom. i'm stumped what to do in there for the time being.
like i said before i easily got stressed about it right when we got married but now we've made a lot of progress it's fun to just enjoy bits and pieces. i feel like our place is a home and i'm so grateful e & i can call it that!!
xoxo
