stars & stripes & a major catch up!

eric & i have been busy having a lot of fun!
i'm so glad that utah celebrates the 24th so our patriotic fun won't end!
we went up to the wright cabin and also to the Oakley rodeo.
you can't miss out on a rodeo over the summer let alone the 4th weekend!
we played games, ate, relaxed, and stayed up late watching a movie on the ipad.
eric & his dad fixed up his vintage motorcycle and he went for a spin.
megan my little side kick for the weekend was my photographer while i drove the 4 wheeler.
i love going up in the mountains and seeing all the GREEN!
what a beautiful country we live in!

next off we went to the Eaglewood fireworks.
this is a tradition since i was a young one.
we found a great spot and played blokus until it got dark with my parents.
we were blown away by the show that was put on! it just keeps getting better!
{by the way i'm sorry for the sideways pics. if you know what i can do to change them...PLEASE inform}
we slept at my parents that night and then got up for Music & the Spoken Word!!
SOOOOO good.
The conference center was pretty busy & the music was incredible!
i loved the red/white stars/blue lighting!
we toured the conference center after because that NEVER gets old!
we went on the roof which e had never been on.
it was such a pretty day! then we let my dad give us the REAL tour of the hall of the prophets.
{the room with all the bronze sculptures & the famous 1st vision sculpture my dad sold to the church}
 the morning of the 4th we had to miss the famous SNARR neighborhood breakfast, a tradition for more than 25 years i believe. but our neighborhood had one also. Eric & I are the mission couple in our ward and so we made the rounds knocking on strangers doors and invited them to come to the community breakfast {eric is SOO brave and the best partner to have during this!}...so we were looking forward to hopefully seeing their faces that morning. i think it's safe to say for the both of us, we really like our ward! i love sitting by all the older women and chatting it up during Relief Society and we've made some cute friends already! during the breakfast eric & i got to meet more people and really just love where we've decided to call home for now!
we relaxed after all the cleanup, went shopping, and also got some fireworks. then we headed to the famous WRIGHT firework/bbq night. we made a fruit pizza and eric was the best and did this all when i was getting ready. i married a creative one!! it turned out soo yummy! we ate, played more games, there was a water fight, and then the boys were all pyros and the girls watched!! it was such a fun day! the fireworks were going off like crazy around the city...it was soo cool to see everyone getting so into it!

 today we celebrated/relaxed just the two of us & went to 7 peaks. it was perfect. we decided we need to go a lot more before the summer is over! my favorite part of the day was when eric & i were by our towels and he said, you're my best friend ali. cheesy--who cares. it was so cute! i love eric & i'm so glad i get to spend so much time with him!
 p.s. here is 1 of the chairs that e did! it's complete! it looks fabulous in our kitchen!! the story behind it will come in time.
xoxo
