backpacking 101.

eric & i {mainly eric} decided we needed to go backpacking before the summer was over.

i was up for it and didn't really know what to expect. 

logan canyon was where we chose to have our adventure.

we started at tony's grove & hiked to white pine lake.

both places are BEAUTIFUL, and it made me realize we really have great views anywhere in utah!

so since this was our 1st time backpacking i'll give you my version on things i learned/implemented:

*pack light

*drink lots of water/bring a purifier

*wear a watch

*know how to make a fire

*be capable of sleeping anywhere

*plan on spending a good amount of time hiking

*leave the electronics in the car

*enjoy nature

*dry packed food really is good. surprisingly

*bring a deck of cards/book

*collect a lot of fire wood

*face wipes are lifesavers

this was our secluded campsite and the view we woke up to.

i'm so glad we did this...it ended off summer just right.

i'm so glad i have a husband that can appreciate being outside and that can start a fire :)
