all of these picture = a memorable day
[trying to stay positive]
Story of my life:
- I leave work early to go shopping with my girl jordie. We were going to the Gateway to get two bridal shower gifts.
- I was already running late from work and so we decided I would pick her up and we would make a quick stop at Kinko's on our way to Salt Lake.
- Kinko's took about 45 minutes. The order was basic that I dropped off but for some reason it took FOREVER.
- We finally get on the freeway. We are talking and catching up when all of the sudden my car goes in to lockdown mode. I look down and realize my gas gauge is beyond empty. I knew I needed to fill up but I didn't realize it was in that bad of condition. So here I am on the far left lane, needing to cross 4 lanes to my right... as i'm slowly losing speed. Of course I start to laugh. [probably not the best timing] I luckily cross every lane and then coast my way on the emergency lane that consits of 5 inches ...hoping i can make the next exit slash not die in the process. Yeah I didn't make the exit and actually stopped at probably the most dangerous section of the freeway.
- Jordie and I are helpless on an overpass. We are literally bouncing up and down because cars are speeding by so fast. I ended up stopping right before two exit's. [so dumb] One of which curved right infront of the car and the other one was straight ahead a few feet down. Oh and we can't forget it is rush hour now! Jordie wasn't even cracking a smile and I couldn't stop laughing.
- We call our friend Shawn to rescue us. I tell him there are gas cans at my house he can just pick up and then to please hurry down. [my plan was to have my parents set them out] I call my 'rents and give them brief information and hope they don't get suspicious about the fact that shawn is picking up gas cans for me. [I filled my parents in after the fiasco]
- Shawn takes forever. UDOT saves the day. UDOT ends up giving us a free gallon and telling us where to go for the nearest gasoline. He also explains that we stopped at a very dangerous part of the freeway. ok ok...i get it. Then Shawn ends up passing us right after UDOT came.
- I go to fill up my car. "Jordie....is my clutch on the ground by you?" --no. Awesome. I left my wallet at the house. [of course this would be happening right now!] Jordie spots me and then we meet up with Shawn. All three of us go exploring for amazing bridal shower gifts and then I retrieve the gas cans after we had shopping bags hanging from our wrists. Shawn explains that he took so long because the gas cans were empty and he had to go fill them up. oh man.
- When originally I planned on being gone for about an hour and it turned out to be 5...I was okay with it because honestly it was a hilarious crazy adventure.
like i said.... story of my life.
